Well, at the risk of being indelicate, we thought we would share our experience with Greyson's trip to the hospital. Lets put it this way: The procedure which is rather routine for newborn American boys is not a standard procedure in the UK. Therefore, one has to make a special request for the procedure. If approved, the procedure will be carried out under general anesthesia when the boy is older than 6 months.
Greyson's procedure was yesterday. He is now of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews - sort of.

Here he is getting ready to brave the cold Edinburgh weather...and other things.

Yet more evidence that this is a very happy child. This picture was taken AFTER the procedure. Way to keep a stiff upper lip, ol' sport.

Still smiling! Actually he did great through the whole thing. The only problem was that his face and chest began to turn red about 1.5 hours after the procedure. He had some kind of reaction to the pain meds they gave him. After about 30 minutes he was fine, though.

Here is the little certificate they presented to Greyson. We were very thankful for how smoothly things went. Greyson was brave. Delaney was a very good and understanding big sister. We are also proud of Delaney because, as agreed, she did not go to school talking about what was happening to her little brother.

good job Grey. One question.......why the native American on the certificate? Is it a Brave??? and Greyson was brave...I guess I figured it out, just didn't think that would be top of mind in the UK.
Kev.
Kevin,
At first I thought that maybe they were saying he had turned from a boy (picture on left) to a man (picture on right). But they use the certificate for more than just these minor procedures, so the application would be somewhat limited. We arrived at the conclusion that they had very minimal clipart at their disposal.
