Our front steps...

It is hard to believe that these steps lead to my favorite place - home. Everyday when we come home these are the stairs we climb to get to our apartment. The hallway is dark and drafty. The outer door is old and makes an incredible moan every time it closes. But it is home for a little while. I am not sure why all of the stairwells in Edinburgh try to make people abandon all hope of mirth and merriment, but they do. It just goes to show, that even something as dreary as these stairs can be charming when they lead home. That was my Halmark moment for the day.
