The Search for Ali Babba

Kevin, Deanna, and Morgan sent Delaney a cool gift. It is called "Ali Babba and his bucking camel." It sounds a little like it could have been an 80's sitcom that "jumped the shark" after 3 episodes. "Jump the Shark" is a term used by TV exec's when a show has run its course and become ridiculous. It comes from a late season of Happy Days when the Fonz jumps a shark on water skis. It was at that point that everyone knew the show was over.

"Ali Babba and his bucking camel" was not a show (but I do remember one called B.J. McKay and his best friend Bear" about a truck driver who travels with a monkey. The 80's, man. Good times) but it does make a cool game.

Rather than just giving Delaney the toy, we decided to make a treasure hunt for it. See pictures.

The start was the fridge (red dot in upper left corner. We then went down the hall, past the phone, and past the coat closet, to our bed, to the desk, and then to the treasure. Also, this gives you a nice little map of our home. The map is not to scale...it is the actual size of the apartment. I kid! The apartment has alomost become like that friend that doesn't mind you making fun of him. We love it, but we like to taunt it, too.

Delaney takes her first look at the map.

The map took ran her directly into our bed. When she got to it she just said, "That was good, thanks" thinking that was the end of the game. Silly goose.

A big red X was taped to my desk chair and the game was on the chair, under the desk.

The treasure hunt was a hit. Thanks to Kevin, Deanna, and Morgan for the game. Delaney loves it.
