We are a grad school family. As such we are in a phase in life when money is......a little tight. So we thought we would provide this little ode to the joy of £2.00. You may be surprized at all of the things one can accomplish in Edinburgh for that small amount. You can get any one of the following:
1) A round-trip bus ride to anywhere in the city.
2) A loaf of Tesco wheat bread and 15 eggs.
3) 4 sausage rolls from Greggs (£2.08, actually)
4) 5 donuts from Greggs.
5) 8 cans of baked beans (I actually eat these for breakfast now...its a British thing).
6) A big Mac and a coke (with a coupon we happen to have right now)
7) Delaney's school 'snack fee' for a week.
8) About 50 copies at the school Library.
9) A very small piece of candy from the Starbucks on Princes Street (just enough for a reward).
10) The smallest toy at Toys R Us (just enough for a reward).
11) 5 2-Liters of Tesco brand cola.
12) Soup, a roll, and a can of coke at the New College cafeteria (This is the best deal in town).
13) Every once in a while you can get a Kids movie at Blockbuster for around £2.
14) A glass from Ikea.
There are many more, of course. But that gives you a flavor.
