My friend (and the Associate Pastor of our church) Colin Adams has graciously posted (on his BLOG) the outline of a class I taught called 'The Preacher's Priorities'. The session was for a preaching course being taught at our church. I am honored to be assisting Colin in presenting this course.
I cannot tell you how exciting it is to see a group of 11 men gathered together for the express purpose of discerning the Lord's Will in their lives. The attendees have been invited to the course because the church leadership sensed the possibility that the Lord may have given them a gift in preaching. The course is designed to provide them with 1) lessons in the fundamentals of preaching/Bible interpretation and 2) encouragement as we discern what the Lord may be doing in their lives.
These 11 men have committed to spending two hours together every two weeks. We just had the fist session last Thursday and it was a profound encouragement to me. Colin's blog also has the audio to his message on 'Digging in to the Text'. Really good stuff.
