Within the next few weeks (after Christmas some time) we will be traveling for me to do some research. I am studying a guy named William Dowsing (1596-1668) and there are some books that he owned in Libraries in London and Ipswich. This is interesting because his hand-written notes are still in the margins and it will help me get an idea of what he was thinking. It should be cool.
We will be taking a train so we will all get to see the UK country side. The map on the left shows the travel route. The start (at the top) is Edinburgh, and it stops at Ipswich.
(This is actually not the best time to be going to Ipswich. You may have heard that there have been some tragic murders there recently. The whole town is scared and under a self-imposed curfew as a man has killed 5 prostitutes. They are calling him the modern day Jack the Ripper. It is strange for us to be planning a trip to a place that is all over the international news. Hopefully they will have caught him by the time we go.)
Enough of that! We are looking forward to the trip. It will be the first time we have been out of the city since we got here. Plus none of us have ever been on a train like this. It should make for a good time. I will study during the day, when the libraries are open, and then we will just enjoy the cities in the late afternoon/evening. I'm sure there will be plenty of pictures to share.
